Take Me to the Moon 4.15: A Regular Day

Previous Chapter / Previous Post (Lot Tour) / Next Chapter:

I decided to queue up a short update for this week; then I decided to ramble on for a couple paragraphs BEFORE the update, making it a little longer!  Maybe I have villain tendencies, addicted to soliloquies.

Maybe this shorter post will be a nice break from my usual very long posts!  (By the way, if you have an opinion about long or short posts, please vote in the sidebar; I appreciate feedback.)  I've noticed that lately, as I've become more attached to my sims, my posts have been more and more detailed, which might be off-putting to read.

In addition to the time-consuming preparations for Cacey and her family's reunion with Delaney and her family, many other important things taking place outside of Sims 4 are requiring my attention right now.  This is  one of my busiest season at work, it's my daughter's birthday :-), and next week I'm travelling for work.  All good things; all competing for those 24 hours a day.

But back to the Tesla Family!  Just before receiving word that Cacey was returning to my save file, this is what Delaney, Alexander, Ewan, Elise, and Eric were up to.

It was just a regular school day; Delaney had been away on her third mission to Sixam.  The kids were doing their homework together while Alexander fixed supper.

Delaney returned from a space mission feeling very confident, and kissing followed.  Of course.  I love how the kids just take it in stride.

Alexander was feeling confident as well, and suavely returned her amorous advances.

After dinner, Elise and Ewan were finishing up her extra credit on the sofa when Alexander autonomously decided that Eric needed a big hug.

Maybe his parents' PDA did have an effect on Ewan.  Because the next morning, he uncharacteristically, (autonomously I might add) decided to accost the mail delivery person with questions about woohoo.

"Hey, I just deliver the mail."

"Do I look like a biology teacher?"

Poor Ewan, now he's embarrassed.

Meanwhile, Alexander and Delaney, who have been playing chess against each other since they were little kids, wanted to have a re-match.  It is always a cutthroat competition between them.

"Oh, you're going that route this time?"

"Yes, and there's nothing you can do about it."

"Hmmm.  Yes, it does look unbeatable."

"But, wait, here's something you may not have noticed..."

 "And, checkmate."

On Delaney's third trip to Sixam the day before, she had headed straight for the area where she had been unable to cross the liquid, that lay between her and the far-off lights.   She couldn't see a way across, to what looked like a city.

But the scenery on Sixam is always mind-blowing.

And Ewan finally painted his first Excellent painting.

Well, that's all for now, folks.

But even though Delaney swore off the Game Awareness path, I think she still checks in on the blog and the Wolff Legacy sometimes to see how Cacey's doing, so I'm sure she knows by now that the next update will be a very happy reunion with her aunt and her family, after a decade's absence.

  1. So it looks like you can't get to the alien city on Sixam? I guess I could understand why, but that's kind of too bad. I like the idea of being able to move to Sixam. It would open the path to playing an alien who is based in her own homework and visits earth. Also sort of like playing on Lunar Lakes in Sims 3. I don't own Lunar Lakes, but I always wanted to.

Ewan asked the mailwoman about woohoo? That's a social option?? I love these autonomous moments.

I certainly don't mind the longer character-involved posts.
It sounds like the aliens in Sims 4 are very different

    1. Dur, apparently I outsmarted myself when I edited my comment and screwed it up. The last sentence, which should have appeared in my ramble about Sixam, should have said: "It sounds like the aliens in Sims 4 are very different from Sims 3. They look like they are full of story possibilities."

    2. I know! I was so disappointed, because before Get to Work came out I saw one of the SimGurus have a sim go to Sixam and go to an alien's house for a party. Maybe you have to be in the Scientist career to do that, because the sim in the video was a scientist.

Yes, Ewan autonomously asked her about woohoo. There's a social for teens to adults, "Ask about Woohoo." It usually causes an embarrassed emotion. There are some similar socials, too, like anyone can ask elders about being old, or ghosts about being dead.

I do think the aliens in Sims 4 have some distinct abilities and, since there is a home world, I agree, some nice possibiities. Thanks for commenting! I haven't read any backposts of Sample in a while because I've been so busy with life, moving my website, and getting Cacey situated. But eventually I'll be back.

  2. Ha, the post woman is making exactly the kind of faces I might make if some random teenage boy started asking me about sex!

Alexander and Delaney playing chess made me wonder if TS4 sims cheat? They do in TS2 but I think they left it out of TS3.

    1. Can you even imagine? That would be either creepy or just bizarre. Ewan didn't even know her from anybody! Up until recently they used to have a male mail delivery guy. I do rememberI had him greet her once just to widen the net for legacy spouses.... But then he had to run off to school, so they had like the equivalent of 3 relationship points probably!

They do cheat in TS4, depending on personality. I have never seen either of them cheat. Delaney usually wins. She's a genius and has maxed out logic. But Alexander is a worthy opponent.

      Thanks for commenting!

  3. I would hope they didn't get rid of the ability to visit the alien city, I'm looking forward to seeing it. The entire alien planet is really quite stunning and pretty. It isn't usually my sort of thing, mostly because alien planets tend to be Mars (in style), and I'm not a big fan of dusty red rock. ;) Nice for Ewan to finally get an excellent painting, he sure is growing up nicely.

Exciting to see their reunion soon! And I totally laughed at Ewan hitting up the mail lady for some woohoo insight, her expression is great, but hey she's totally cute! Maybe when he's a little older. ;)

    1. Me too, I hope scientists at least can visit. Sixam is much prettier than Mars, unless you did love red rock I guess. Thanks for commenting!
