Take Me to the Moon 4.11: Mortimer's Wake

Previous Chapter / Next Chapter:

All the grown-ups were preparing for the wake, scurrying around, getting dressed, and Desmond was free to be sad without having to talk to anyone.

Take Me to the Moon 4.6: An Old Soul

Previous Chapter / Next Chapter

(Reader, please humor me as we take an eventful side-trip to the in-laws, the Goth household, and venture further into the Game Aware Sims subplot while there.  Although some of these characters are now revealed to be more game aware, we will return to our regularly scheduled programming with more oblivious sims, next week.)

Alexander, intrigued, followed Mortimer Goth to the roof.

While playing chess, Alexander had described to his dad how he and Delaney had started wondering about whether other places where even "out there" or not.  He told him that even some of their memories, seemed gone.   Cacey's departure from everywhere had opened their eyes.  Now they realized they knew so little.

Mortimer held up his hand to stop Alexander.  "This discussion warrants a  more epic backdrop.  And better lighting.   To the roof!"

Take Me to the Moon 4.1: Old Wounds

Previous Chapter / Next Chapter

It was the morning of Delaney's wedding, but she was outside, looking at Uncle Barnaby's old trailer, and missing him.

And Delaney was staring at the spot where her launchpad and rocket, Earhart, had sat for so long.  Earhart had practically been her best friend through high school.  Many, many days and nights they had spent together, and then shared that amazing, 93 minute low earth orbit.

Cacey and Delaney had decided to sell the rocket to help Delaney and Alexander start their life together after their marriage.  And Delaney was now a Low Orbit Specialist at the Space Agency, so she got to participate in the launching of rockets several times a year.  It just wasn't the same, though.
